The easier it is for you to get data into CloudZero, the easier it’ll be to maximize your cloud efficiency. This month’s updates have entirely to do with ease of use: a drag-and-drop method to get unit cost metric data into the product, an improved MongoDB integration, and continued improvements to our AnyCost™ API and cost integrations.
Our vision is to make efficient innovation a reality for every cloud-driven company — as of this month, you can add Gartner to the list of supporters of that vision. Gartner named CloudZero a Visionary in The 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ For Cloud Financial Management Tools. Read our press release here.
Now, without further ado, read below to learn about the most notable features and enhancements our team has rolled out in the past month.
CSV Upload For Unit Metrics
What it is: A drag-and-drop feature for creating unit cost metric dashboards in a matter of minutes. All you need to do is generate a CSV file with a month’s worth of data, name and define the stream in CloudZero, upload the CSV file, and tell CloudZero how to map the file’s columns to particular unit cost metrics.
Customer value: Unit cost metrics measure how efficiently you’re operating in the cloud. This lets you create unit cost metric dashboards in a fraction of the time it used to take:
- No need for APIs or coding
- No more hours spend reformatting or deleting data in files
- Track and manage the business value of your cloud investment in minutes

Enhanced MongoDB Integration (Atlas)
What it is: We’ve developed a brand new in-platform MongoDB integration that makes it easier for you to visualize and understand your MongoDB spend. With this new integration, customers who have MongoDB spend can easily track, analyze and optimize that MongoDB spend by setting up a connection in a matter of minutes.
Customer value: As one of the most popular document databases and developer data platforms in the world, MongoDB is a foundational aspect of the cloud strategy for more than 50,000 companies. This new integration allows CloudZero customers to connect to their MongoDB instance quickly to seamlessly ingest cost and usage data without having to run or manage any additional systems.
Check out the product documentation to see how easy it is to ingest and analyze your MongoDB spend.

AnyCost API Improvements
What it is: We’ve enhanced the existing AnyCost API and added new functionality that allows for a cloud agnostic, direct stream of data to our API endpoint. With this improvement, sending cost data to CloudZero from any even the most obscure source is as simple as:
- Register the connection in the CloudZero UI.
- Write the code that powers the Adaptor.
- Send cost data to CloudZero.
Customer value: Our goal when we started working on this enhancement was to make it refreshingly easy to ingest data from any cost source into CloudZero, and we believe this release does exactly that.
To get started with the new AnyCost Stream Adaptor, take a look at the product documentation.

GCP Recommenders Support
What it is: CloudZero now supports ingestion of GCP Recommender data, which includes insights and recommendations to optimize resource usage. Insights identify issues such as overpayments for reserved instances, while recommendations suggest corrective actions, like modifying your reservation plan.
We currently support the following recommendations:
- Change Over-Provisioned SQL Instance
- Delete Idle Address Recommender
- Delete Idle Disk Recommender
- Delete Idle Image Recommender
- Snapshot and Delete Idle Provisioned Disks
- Stop Idle VM Instances Recommender
- VM Machine Type Recommender
Customer value: We continue to strive to provide our customers with a single place to see all of their optimization opportunities, regardless of cloud provider. This is yet another step in supporting that goal for our customers.
