Now, with the CloudZero plugin, that list includes optimizing code. AWS customers can now use the CloudZero Amazon Q plugin to generate cloud cost insights directly within the AWS Management Console. Insights include:

- Optimization recommendations: “@cloudzero List my top savings insights.”
- Billing alerts: “@cloudzero Are we on track to meet or exceed this month’s budget?”

… and more. The CloudZero plugin gives developers and businesses a faster path to efficiency, helping power proactive cost management and better decision-making.
Simple 3-Step Configuration
Setting up the CloudZero plugin is a simple three-step process:
- Obtain the CloudZero API Key: Retrieve the API key from CloudZero Account Settings
- Store credentials in AWS Secrets Manager: Save the API key as a secret in AWS Secrets Manager
- Create service role: Establish a service role that grants Amazon Q permission to access the secret containing the CloudZero credentials
